    We are currently seeking a Managing Director for our Southeast Region. The selected candidate will partner and collaborate closely with executive leadership, direct reports and cross-functional teams in developing and executing the business in alignment with AGRO’s strategy. This position will have oversight of multiple facilities within the assigned region and will report directly to the President of North America.

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement the strategy for the business and geographical area of responsibility.
    • Develop and implement service offering for the business and geographical area of responsibility.
    • Manage the region’s P&L to meet and exceed budgeted objectives and goals.
    • Manage each site within region to include transport activities when applicable.
    • Ensure adequate customer pricing and profitability analysis is in place.
    • Review and approve adequate plans for the control of budget spending, labor efficiency, customer service, import/export, transportation operations, etc.
    • Review performance against operating plans and standards and makes plan changes as required to maintain and exceed customer service levels, warehouse and transport EBITDA.
    • Develop the business further within the region and within each responsible site to include involvement in business development and mergers & acquisitions.
    • Develop and maintain service metrics and staff development. Assist in developing and implementing hiring strategies to meet the growth of the business.
    • Ensure compliance of policies, procedures, workflows, claims and training needs.
    • Train and mentor employees. Plan, assign, delegate and direct work. Appraise performance. Reward and discipline employees and resolve employee issues.
    • Manage the layout and set-up of the warehouses and WMS for the appropriate storage and efficient handling of the product.
    • Set and allocate targets to warehouse staff and organize staff training activities.
    • Maintain safe and efficient warehouse conditions ensuring adherence of OSHA guidelines and regulations.
    • Ensure work order process is continuously updated for proper billing and payroll.
    • Ensure that duties, responsibilities, authority and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and 15+ years of experience in the logistics industry, preferably in the food industry.
    • 10+ years of relevant work experience as General Manager for multiple sites.
    • Demonstrated successful experience in transformational organizations.
    • Experienced and at ease in a commercial development setting, engaging positively with external customers and sales development.
    • Demonstrated results in employee engagement and team development.
    • Ability to shift easily between strategy and pragmatic execution.
    • High energy profile, result oriented, calm under pressure, not easily distracted.
    • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, change and innovation.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
    • Strong analytical and financial skills.
    • Knowledge of operating, capital budgeting and price development.
    • Skilled in the use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and logistics systems.
