    The Warehouse Supervisor has general responsibility for coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities daily. Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing and shipping of product in a manner consistent with Agro's service requirements and cost objectives.The Warehouse Supervisor has general responsibility for coordinating and supervising all warehouse activities daily.     Responsibilities

    • Manually load or unload materials onto or off pallets, platforms, cars, or lifting devices.     
    • Organize and maintain inventory and storage area.
    • Coach and counsel employees as needed.
    • Identify areas of improvement and establish innovative or adjust existing work procedures or practices.
    • Confer and coordinate activities with other departments.
    • Maintain a safe work environment.
    • Ensure the accuracy of inventory and shipments.
    • Communicate position expectations and train employees.
    • Dedicated to cultural change.
    • Operate or tend automatic spacing’s/de-spacing machines.
    • Operate material handling equipment to support receiving, shipping, staging and product relocation. 
    • Operate all equipment within safety guidelines and attend regularly scheduled safety meeting. Report any accidents and/or incidents immediately after the occurrence.      
    • Receiving-unload inbound shipments safely and move products to the storage locations. Efficiently stack and store products in the appropriate area(s).
    • Loading-efficiently move product from the staging or storage areas into rail cars and/or trailers for outbound shipment.
    • Equipment-load, unload, move, stack and stage product and materials using a forklift, clamp truck, slip-sheet or other power equipment.
    • Maintain the facilities equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion. Daily, inspect and verify equipment is operating prior to the start of the day's activity
    • Advise the supervisor of any problems encountered.
    • Safety, Sanitation, and Security- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
    • Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
    • Conduct operations in a manner which promotes safety.
    • Possess the ability to understand and operate a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure accurate completion of assignments.

    Qualifications

    • Capable of operating forklifts and their attachments
    • Capable of heavy lifting up to 70lbs
    • Proven work experience as a warehouse supervisor
    • Capable of following written and verbal instructions
    • Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques.
    • Ability to work various shifts
    • Possess a strong resistance to a cold environment
    • Knowledge of warehouse software packages
    • Knowledge of Red Prairie a plus (but not required)
    • Bachelor’s degree a plus (but not required)
    • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done
    • Strong organization and time management skills
    • Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations
